Faieq Idlan

frontend engineer at Ryt Bank.

Outside of work I build apps I wish existed, mostly with React Native and Next.js. Before banking I shipped web and mobile products with React and Firebase.

Momento

Dec 2024 - Present
problem
Guests at weddings and events take hundreds of photos that never reach the host.
bet
A QR code that opens a gallery is easier than getting everyone to install an app.
outcome
Live event gallery with real-time sync, host/guest roles, and PWA access. Shipped for real events with a public demo.

CNB Carpets Mobile Application

Oct 2024 - Present
problem
Sales staff at CNB needed product specs and quotes in showrooms with spotty Wi-Fi and outdated paper catalogues.
bet
An offline-first mobile catalogue beats PDFs that go stale the week after you print them.
outcome
Field-sales app with admin, staff, and customer roles. Product browsing, promos, maps, and PDF sharing in one build.

CardSnap

Feb 2024 - Present
problem
Business cards pile up after meetings. Typing contacts into your phone is slow and easy to put off.
bet
Scan the card, let AI pull the fields, save in one tap.
outcome
Mobile app that scans cards, extracts contacts with OpenAI, and syncs favorites. Works offline when you need it.

How I work

  1. // step_01

    Figure out the user moment

Who is stuck, and what are they trying to do? I sketch the flow before picking tools.

  2. // step_02

    Test the risky part first

Build the smallest version that proves the idea: QR join, offline cache, AI parsing. Not the full feature list.

  3. // step_03

    Cover every state

Loading, empty, error, and success matter as much as the happy path. I try to catch gaps before code review.

  4. // step_04

    Ship and adjust

See what actually moves the needle, then tighten. Side projects are where I practice that loop.
